Tetruashvili made her debut at the Whitsun Salzburg Festival in May 2024 with the role of Annio in La Clemenza di Tito, conducted by Gianluca Capuano and directed by Robert Carsen. Performing alongside Cecilia Bartoli, Daniel Behle, Mélissa Petit and Ildebrando D’arcangelo, she was named as one of “5 Breakout Artists From Classical Music’s Most Prestigious Festival” by The New York Times in August 2024: “…Tetruashvili […] persuasively shifted from one feeling to the next, with a tone that was unwaveringly beautiful, and at times startlingly fierce…”
Tetruashvili’s early career saw her perform key roles like Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro, Second Lady in Die Zauberflöte, and Giannetta in L’elisir d’amore while she was a member of the Tbilisi Conservatory’s opera studio. She continued her artistic development in Vienna, where she played roles like Eduige in Handel’s Rodelinda and Idamante in Mozart’s Idomeneo at the Schönbrunn Palace Theatre. As part of Munich’s Gärtnerplatztheater Opera Studio, she has taken on roles such as Tisbe in La Cenerentola and Sandmann&Taumann in Hänsel und Gretel. In the season of 2024/25, permanence of her presence on the stage of Gärtnerplatztheater will be enhanced with a few more role debuts: Mercédès in a new production of Carmen, Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel, Zerlina in Don Giovanni and Véronique in Doktor Mirakel. In the same season she is also planned to have her debut at Opéra de Monte-Carlo, guesting with the role of Annio in La Clemenza di Tito in a new production by Jetske Mijnssen.
Tetruashvili honed her craft at the Tbilisi State Conservatory under Prof. Natalia Volchenko before furthering her studies in Vienna at the University of Music and Performing Arts (MDW). There, she studied with prominent teachers such as Prof. Margit Klaushofer and Prof. Christoph U. Meier, Michael Sturminger and Prof. Roland Schwab, gaining significant experience and polishing her stage presence. She graduated her Master’s degree of Stage Performance in Vienna with honours in June 2024.
In addition to her stage work, Tetruashvili has earned accolades in international competitions. She was awarded the Bärenreiter Special Prize at the 2023 Salzburg International Mozart Competition and has secured top prizes at the Premio Scarlatti in Vilnius and the Antonín Dvořák International Singing Competition.
